This project intends to express the idea of capitalist turmoil of validating possibilities we’re all subject to and the impossibility to operate in it, through the configuration of regular day-to-day objects.

When building these pieces I couldn’t help but think of all the branches that my life could dislocate towards. All those alternative futures in which one looks apparently happy, or happier, but whose reach seems limited by the existance of all the others. Throughout my life, I’ve built my identity upon curiosity and longing, as some friends say, “knowing a bit of everything but not too much of anything in particular”. That can become a burden when a consolidated path is imperceptible—deciding one thing to be when all you want is multiplicity, and multiplicity is such a quimera in neopolitical western systems.

Obsessed with the idea of circumference as representation of perfection, but also of cyclic events, recurrency and spiraling, it seemed the perfect nexus for what I wanted to say. A simple shape being the most accurate depiction of organicisim and thus life, can transform into something that should be avoided, or that can’t simply be handled, hold or understood.

The result is a series of 12 pieces (half of them under final preparation) provided with such a number of handles that can’t be handled at all. A nice brutalist metaphor.
