Silva Obiecti intends to be an effigiation of the Earth as a motor and axis of life, creating a context in which non-utilitarian objects move from being merely inert (non)present objects to become a matrix of growth, requiring observation, understanding, intention, time and care, and thus changing the way we relate to both, the objects per se, and all the processes evolving such idols.

In these relentless times, consumption and ownership are two of the fuels that feed our day to day life. We acumulate, we hoard, we fill our spaces with matter coming from intensive extraction, seeking to reach some abstraction we can’t fully understand.

The ultimate purpose of such objects is to occupy a space. But as Georges Perec said, we hold a painting in the wall because we don’t want to look at the wall, and eventually the painting becomes something we don’t want to look at.

This work explores a more concious way to relate to the objects we select and own in the spaces we inhabit. A way to make them ours to care for, under a fear of them ceasing to exist in the way we know them, and under a longing for the possibilities they hold.

The process is still ongoing, stay tuned for updates!
